Student Learning Development offers a variety of services for all Trinity College students to help them develop the skills needed to become independent learners, able to face challenges and achieve their best during their time in college. Students of all levels and abilities, even the very high achievers, often need support and/or advice to achieve their best; SLD can give that support.

POSTGRADUATE SERVICES

Academic Skills Support Workshops.

For semester 1 in the 2020/21 academic year, all our workshops will be run online through Blackboard Collaborate. Students will be emailed links to join in advance of the workshops.

The workshop programme will be available by end of September 2020.

One to one appointments.

You can make an SLD one to one appointment to discuss your individual academic related concerns by emailing student.learning@tcd.ie. Currently individual appointments are being run either through Blackboard Collaborate or by telephone.

PG Academic Support Clinic

Specifically for PG students, SLD are now offering 45 min bookable appointments on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons. You will meet online with an experienced academic learning advisor, regarding any aspect of PG study from academic writing to viva preparation. Appointments are run over video call, using MS Teams. Academic Writing Clinic for Undergraduates

This will commence in Semester 1, 2020.

Shut Up and Write Café

These are group writing sessions aimed to get you writing!! Based on a tried and tested format using the pomodoro method of 25 minute writing sessions interspersed with 5 minute breaks for coffee/chatting. This writing café is a must if you are trying to write and it's not going as well as you'd hoped.

Sessions are run via Blackboard Collaborate. Session times will be mailed to you twice weekly from SLD.
